摘要
在城市化的进程中，现代城市面临特色消褪和形象趋同问题。如何通过有效的手段创造、改造和控制城市物质形态，塑造城市特色，成为城市设计的重要研究方向。根据这一目标，作者在城市意象理论和形态理论的基础上，提出了城市意象形态的概念，指出城市意象形态是城市设计构思的出发点。
Cityes in our time are facing dissipation of caracters and assimilation of image and form.How to creat,reform,and regulate city's physical form and pattern fostering the city its specific features,has become a major topic of study.The author discusses the concept of city's characteristic features which, he points out, is the starting point of mentally composing a urban design.
