摘要
最佳关联是指交际中受话方付出最少的认知推理努力,获得最大的语境效果。基于这一原则,对于中英文语言结构的差异,为减少认知推理努力,译者可以选择归化翻译策略,对于中西方文化意象的翻译,译者则应更多地使用异化翻译策略,这样可以带出最大的语境效果。
Relevance Theory is a far-reaching theory in pragmatics of communication. It regards communi- cation as an ostensive-inferential process, assuming that a successful communication highly depends on optimal relevance. Relevant-theoretical translation views translation as a dual-ostensive-inferential process among 3 parts： original text, translator and target readers. So we can use Relevance Principals to guide us on choosing translation strategies： domestication strategy is supposed to be chosen to reduce cognitive inferential efforts when language structure differences are concerned; while foreignization strategy should be used for cultural image dif- ferences so as to bring out maximum contextual effects.
