美国信息类科研机构研究领域可视化挖掘——以工程技术类研究领域为例 被引量:2

Visually Mining the Research Fields of the American Information-related Research Institutions——Taking Engineering Technical Area as An Example

摘要 采用自组织映射(SOM)方法对美国43所信息类科研机构在2001-2011年被EI数据库收录的论文及其分类号进行了可视化聚类分析,并归纳出各机构聚类的主要工程技术类研究领域。结果发现,将近一半的科研机构以计算机软件、数据处理及应用为研究重点,其次大约有四分之一的机构以信息科学为研究重点,大约有五分之一的机构以计算机外围设备为研究重点,少数机构以教育、管理为研究重点。 In this study the articles published by the tween 2001 and 2011 and indexed by the EI database, forty-three information institutions in the U.S. betogether with their EI classification codes, were visually analyzed with the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) technique. The main research fields for each institution cluster were summarized. The findings reveal that nearly a half of institutions took computer software, data handling and application as their research foci, a quarter of institutions took information science as their research focus, one fifth of the institutions took computer peripheral equipment as their research focus, and only a few institutions took education or management as their research focus.
