摘要
由于英汉两种语言在词汇和句子表达上的差异 ,在英汉互译的过程中要充足传达原词语和句子包涵的意思 ,“精炼词义”和“雕琢句意”的翻译策略是不可或缺的。本文从现代翻译理论的角度阐述了在翻译过程中炼词和琢句的重要性 ,并以充实的例子作了具体说明。
The relation between an English expression and its Chinese equivalent is not always palpable and straightforward. Therefore 'perfecting word and sentence meaning' is an indispensable strategy for an idiomatic and smooth translation. Based on modern translation theory, this present article briefly describes the importance of 'diction and meaning transfiguration' in the course of C-E/E-C translation with abundant illustrations.
