摘要
信息共同体既是一个具有信息开放和平等共享内涵的价值理念,也是一种具有时代特征的学术空间和学术设施。对面临机制形态全面转型图书馆来说,信息共同体是未来之路,即今日以至未来的漫长时间里,图书馆要在全面继承传统图书馆优秀文化的基础上,引入新兴的信息科学技术成果,建成功能强大、其他机构无法替代的信息共同体。
Information Commons is not only the idea to offer open access to information and information sharing, but also the unique academic space and facility with distinct characteristics of digital age. Facing the total transformation of library mechanism, Information Commons is the road ahead for library in a long future time. Based on the fine traditions of library culture, libraries should introduce new achievements in information science and build up a powerful Information Commons, for which no any other information agencies and institutes could substitute.
