Place Stratification,Mobility of Talents,and Attractive Power of Cities:A Theoretical Exploration of the Relationship Between Geographical Mobility and Social Mobility

摘要社会总是地理化社会,其运作离不开人的地理流动。人的地理流动的动因之一,在于地方与地方之间的不平等。而地方不平等可以通过地方分层来测量,测量的指标包括经济、消费、行政权力等级和地方声望(或形象)。在地方不平等的条件下,地理流动助推社会流动(包括经济流动、消费流动、权力流动和地位流动等方面)。由于地方在地方分层体系中所处的层级不同,其对外来人才的吸引力也不同。那些在地方分层体系中占据较高层级的地方,对外来人才具有更大的吸引力。而人才向一线城市的不均衡聚集,成为地方不平等的又一个根源。 Given places or regions are unequal,they are stratified.However,stratification used to be always restricted to social inequality while that of places was ignored in the literature of stratification.This paper is aimed to reveal the importance and relevance of the issue of place stratification to the issue of stratification.The links between place stratification and social stratification and,accordingly,those between geographical mobility and social mobility,are analyzed.The issues of why and how talents move from one place to another are illustrated in terms of the relationship between geographical mobility and social mobility.Finally,the implications of this study for a city to attract talents are also discussed.
