Coptis chinensis as an extensive source of Chinese herbal medicine, has a good development prospect. This article gives a systematic exposition of Coptis ehinensis on the medicinal resources, chemical constituents, quality control and pharmacological effects to provides the reference for the sustainable utilization of the resources and industrial development.
