摘要
生物分子表面的水在蛋白、核酸、生物膜结构的形成、稳定以及功能的实现中发挥着重要作用.半个多世纪以来,生物分子表面水如何参与生物过程的问题,持续引发关注.然而,目前为止对水分子如何具体发挥生物功能却仍然知之甚少.本文介绍了当前对生物分子表面水的微观结构和性质的一些研究及其进展,讨论了生物分子表面水的行为与实现生物功能的关系.最后,采用一个仿生表面的水行为,展现一个理解生物分子表面水以及生物分子表面水可能承载生物功能方面的新视角.
It has been recognized that water is essential to the life, within the structural formation, stability and function of proteins,nucleic acids and membranes, but it still remains little known well for water itself how to actively engage, interact with biomolecules, and even carry the biological functionalities. During the past sixty years, the water involvement in biological functionality is of widespread interest and also a matter of debate. We review the recent progresses in this field, and in particular, discuss the relationship between the behaviors of water around biomolecules and its relevant biological functions. Finically, we adopt the carboxyl-terminated self-assembled monolayers with biomimetic structural properties and illustrate the water behaviors on it, to exhibit new insight toward the functionality of water in biology.
