摘要
作为阿加莎·克里斯蒂侦探推理作品的经典,《东方快车谋杀案》精湛演绎的悬念在一定程度上来源于对该小说文体的宏观层面——叙事视角的精心构思。叙事者运用全知视角有意遮蔽和隐瞒特定信息,在透视人物内心时有选择地透露主要人物的心理,调节叙事信息和距离,造成关键信息的空白和不对称。叙事者还适时地调节叙事视角,利用人物有限视角构筑出其不意的效果,有限视角的局限性也有助于实现假象构建,从而使小说充满张力感和悬念性,为读者带来刺激的悬念情结与审美愉悦。
The successful suspense generation in Agatha Christie's classic detective story Murder on the Orient Express is partly attributed to the author's skillful design of narrative perspective of the fiction. In applying zero focalization, the narrator of the story tends to focus on some aspect of the omniscient angle to hold back certain key information from readers, and characters' interior monologues are also tactically selected to regulate narrative information and distance so as to provide readers with dissymmetric information. Limited visual angle of character-focalizer is also frequently employed to produce suspenseful effects by presenting misleading information to readers, thus affecting readers' interpretation of the story and further bringing readers a thrilling experience of suspense and aesthetic joviality.
