朱九思先生在华中工学院工作的30多年中,以其卓越的胆识和超人的见地,提出一系列改革和发展的思想,为学校的发展做出了不可磨灭的贡献。他在治学过程中,推崇教师的重要地位和作用,倡导学术自由追求真理的校风,重视对学生创造能力的培养,这些观点不仅在当时是超前的,时至今日仍具有积极现实的意义和价值。
With his eminent courage and remarkable insight, Mr. Zhu Jiusi put forward a series of thoughts on reformation and development to Huazhong Institute of Technology during his 31 years of administration, and all his contributions are everlasting for this university. His ideas on academic pursuit can be mainly summarized as follows ： valuing the importance and contributions of teachers, advocating university atmosphere of academic free-dom and pursuing truth, emphasizing on cultivating studentsr creativity. These thoughts were very proactive dur-ing those days, and are still very positive and significant today.
