摘要
以客观中立为目标的平衡报道中,虚假平衡是削弱平衡价值的主因,并与媒体的风险放大有必然联系。在对重大风险事件的报道中,媒体对平衡原则的把握关系到沟通风险和控制风险的努力是否合法有效。研究将虚假平衡从传统的科学传播领域转入风险传播领域,以《时代》周刊的弗格森报道为切入点进行观察。研究采用内容分析法详细剖析《时代》相关报道,发现在涉及各种争议和冲突的平衡报道中存在虚假平衡现象,并在一定程度上导致了种族问题扩大化。研究认为新闻中的平衡法则应致力于对平衡所需证据的权衡,避免以平衡取代对信息信度的验证。
As for the balanced report that featuring objective neutrality as its target,false balance is the main reason for weakening the balanced value,and there are inevitable links between it and media risk amplification. In the report for major risk events,the understanding of the media for the principle of balance lays impact on the legality and effectiveness of the endeavor for risk communication and risk control. The article has shifted the study of false balance from traditional science broadcasting field to risk broadcasting field,and made respective observation by applying the report of Ferguson Event in TIMES magazine as the breakthrough point. The article has analyzed respective reports in TIMES in detail through the application of content analysis method,in which it has discovered that false balance phenomenon exists in balanced reports of various disputes and conflicts and leads to the enlargement of race-related issues. The article believes that the balancing method,which has been used in the news report,shall aim at judging and weighing necessary evidences for the balance,so as to prevent from substituting the practice of verifying information reliability with balanced reports.
