摘要
2016年6月3GPP通过的窄带物联网(NB-IoT)标准非常适合运营商部署低功耗、广覆盖的窄带蜂窝物联网。文章对NB-IoT的标准化进展、技术特点和产业发展进行回顾与介绍,指出其有望解决标准不统一、接入能力不足、终端成本高、应用碎片化等制约物联网产业发展的关键因素,希望更多的厂商能加入到NB-IoT的产业阵营中。
In June 2016 3GPP approved Narrowband Internet of Things （NB-IoT） standard, a new cellular technology to provide low power and wide-area coverage for IoT. This paper reviews and introduces the NB- IoT standardization progress, technical characteristics and industrial development. It points out that NB-IoT is expected to solve issues those result in slow IoT industry growth, such as inconsistent standards, insufficient network access capability, expensive terminals, and fragmented application. We hope that more manufacturers will join the NB-IoT industry camp to embrace the incoming spring of IoT.
