Ka波段波导过渡器的设计

Design and Simulation of Ka-Band Waveguide Taper for High Power Gyrotron Traveling Wave Tube

摘要 基于现代模式匹配技术,优化了Ka波段的过模TE01模式过渡器的设计,采用现代成熟的电磁仿真软件对设计的该过渡器参数进行了理论验证。结果表明:在28~38 GHz的频带范围内,TE01模式的传输效率超过98%,其中在28.7 GHz时最大传输效率达到99.9%。设计的半径渐变的光滑圆波导过渡器具有传输效率高、结构紧凑、易于加工等,可应用于高功率毫米波过模传输系统上。 A novel type of Ka-band,TE01 mode,over-sized waveguide taper for high power gyrotron traveling wave tube(Gyro-TWT) was designed,on the basis of the mode-matching method. The impact of the key variables,including the geometry of the tapered cylindrical shell,center frequency and band-width,on the characteristics,particularly the transmission efficiency in TE01 mode,was mathematically modeled,theoretically analyzed,and numerically simulated with CST software for design optimization. The simulated results show that the newly-designed waveguide taper may be used in the high power millimeter-wave oversized transmission system because of its high transmission efficiency and because of its compactness and easy fabrication. To be specific,its transmission efficiency in TE01 mode was higher than 98% in 28~38 GHz range,reaching the peak of 99. 9% at 28. 7 GHz.
