摘要
本文以英语计算机、互联网术语和网络在线聊天缩略语（合称网络英语）为研究对象，探讨这一领域内泛缩略语的构成形式和具体分类，进而探究其结构特点，指出它们对英语书面交际形式和交际效率的影响，诠释它们在教学中具有不可低估的作用。
This paper, taking the computer, internet terms and words of chat-online abbreviations （the threeintegrated into network English） as research target, analyses the detailed formation and classification of the extensive shortenings in this field, and then probes into theirstructural features. Finally, it reveals their effectonwritten forms in communication and communicative efficiency, and explains why importance is to be attached to its functions in English teaching.
