In this paper, analysis of embryo, endosperm, cytoplasmic and maternal plant genetic effects and narrow heritability for protein content( PC),starch content( SC),fiber content( FC),fat content( FATC) and beta glucan content( BGC) of malting barley were conducted by using a quantitative character genetic model of seeds in the triploid endosperm gramineae of cereal crops and statistical analysis method. It was indicated by the results that the genetic main effects for 5 quality characters( PC,SC,FC,FATC,BGC) were more important than the environment interaction effects. The main effect was cytoplasmic effect in genetic main effects for PC,SC,FC and BGC,but the FATC was mainly controlled by maternal dominance effect in malting barley. The narrow heritability of PC,SC,FC and BGC traits was 69. 75% 、60. 09% 、57. 69% and 61. 76% respectively, but the significant narrow heritability was not detected on FATC. The additive genetic correlation analysis results showed that there was cytoplasmic and maternal additive perfect positive correlation between PC and FC,and the cytoplasmic perfect negative correlation was extremely significant between PC and BGC,FC and SC,FC and BGC.
