摘要
地方高校在以创新驱动为基础的经济社会发展中发挥重要作用,已成为提高区域核心竞争力、引领区域创新发展的核心要素。地方高校的社会功能继"知识库""知识工厂"两大功能之后,又向推动区域创新的"知识中心"的功能转变。美国亚特兰大乔治亚理工学院在乔治亚州从工农业型经济向创新驱动型经济转变的背景下,与乔治亚州建立了亲密的共生关系,学校逐渐从传统的"知识工厂"转变为助推区域创新发展的"知识中心""区域创新中心",进而提升了所在地区的技术创新能力,推动了经济的快速发展。其成功经验对于探讨我国地方高校区域创新功能的实现路径具有重要的启示作用。
Local universities have assumed an expanded role in innovation driven economic development that has become the core element of enhancing regional core competitiveness and leading regional de velopment through innovation. The social functions of local universities turn to ＂the knowledge cen ter＂ to promote the regional innovation after they were named ＂knowledge database＂ and ＂knowledge factory＂. Under the background of the transition from industrial and agricultural economy to innova tion driven economy in Georgia state, the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA, has estab lished a close symbiotic relationship with Georgia, and the school has gradually changed from the tra ditional ＂knowledge factory＂ into a ＂knowledge center＂ and ＂regional innovation center＂ which promo ted regional innovative development and effectively improved the technological innovation ability of the region, promoting the rapid development of economy. Its successful experience has important enlight enment for exploring into the realization path of regional innovation functions of local universities in China.
