Based on the survey analysis of 4682 minority freshmen, we find that minority students from different social classes differ in the reported degree of importance the listed 16 factors have in their college choice. The lower class students emphasize ' tuition and living costs ' as the most important factor, while the middle class and upper class regard ' parents and other family members ’ advice ' as more important. Further analysis indicates that stratified differentiation within the minority nationalities have an important impact on children ’ s college choice. Degree of parents ’ influence on college choice and parents ’ education levels are positively correlated, while the impact of tuition and living costs on college choice and household income are negatively correlated. Low parents ’ influence degree and low household income place the lower class of students in the disadvantaged position in college choice.
