摘要
作为一位既接受过西方正规化神学教育,同时又通晓中国文化的传教士,利玛窦在《天主实义》"论人魂不灭大异禽兽"篇中,以中世纪著名经院哲学家托马斯·阿奎那的人学思想为武器,对"中士"悲观主义的生命观和灵魂观予以修正。不仅论证了基督宗教灵魂不灭信仰的基本内容,同时也将西方经院哲学的方法、气质带入中国,为中国哲学的丰富和发展做出了贡献。在此过程中,利玛窦运用中国人熟悉的语言和论证方式对阿奎那的灵魂—身体关系学说、理智学说以及实体类型学说加以阐释,为阿奎那人学思想的中国化诠释做出了典范性的贡献。
In Chapter"On the Immortality of Human's Soul Totally Different from Animals"in his Catechismus Sinicus(The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven/Tianzhu Shi Yi)Matteo Ricci,as a missionary who had accepted the Western normalized theological education and also had a good knowledge of Chinese culture,amended the pessimistic views of life and soul of Chinese scholars with sharp weapon of thoughts of humanology of Thomas Aquinas,a famous scholastic philosopher in the Middle Ages.He not only demonstrated the basic contents of the Christian faith in the immortality of soul,but also introduced the methodology and style of Western scholasticism to China,which contributed to the enrichment and development of Chinese philosophy.In this process,Matteo Ricci interpreted Aquinas's doctrines of soul-body relationship,intellect,and the types of substance by using the language and the way of argumentation Chinese people were familiar with,which made an exemplary contribution to the sinicized interpretation of Aquinas's thoughts of humanology
