摘要
当前关于平台竞争优势的主流研究通常聚焦于网络效应的收益递增与正反馈效应,而忽视了网络效应的外生性本质,及其与资源能力理论之间的理论割裂,也难以对现实中赢家通吃、先赢后输与后来者居上并存的现象提供合理解释。针对这一问题,文章从间接网络效应的组织属性着手讨论了平台竞争优势的根源,并在此基础上运用共同演化范式分析了平台竞争优势在长期内的可持续性问题。研究认为,间接网络效应具有他组织与自组织二重性,其导致平台企业异质性能力的外部化以及网络加杠杆效应,二者协同构成平台竞争优势的根源。而在长期内,平台企业创造竞争优势的过程诱致了新产业架构的涌现。其通过参与人变更、新技术涌现、战略变革等反向作用于在位者能力增量和网络杠杆强度,反馈到"新一轮"能力差异和网络杠杆的协同,进而决定了长期演进意义上企业竞争优势的持续与否。
At present,the mainstream research on platform competitive advantage usually focuses on the increasing returns and positive feedback effects of network,ignoring the exogenous attribute of network effect,and the theoretical separation between network effect and RBV.It is also difficult to provide a reasonable explanation to reality.This paper discusses the origin of platform competitive advantage from the point of indirect network effects’organizational attributes,and further uses the co-evolution paradigm to analyze the sustainability of platform competitive advantage in the long run.It suggests that the indirect network effect has the duality characteristic of hetero-organization and self-organization,which leads to the externalization of heterogeneous capabilities of platform enterprises and the leverage of network.Their synergy constitutes the root of platform competitive advantage.In the long run,the process of platform enterprises creating competitive advantages will lead to the emergence of new industrial structure,which will change incumbent’s capacity increment and network leverage strength,and feed back to the’new round’capability difference and the synergy of network leverage,and finally determine the sustainability of enterprise’s competitive advantage in the sense of long-term evolution.
