摘要
理论研究是公共行政学重要的研究类别之一,更是行政学知识传统的重要组成部分。公共行政学的发展离不开高质量理论研究的支撑。但是,现有对公共行政学研究规范、研究方法的讨论却长期聚焦于对定性或定量等不同类型研究素材的讨论,较少梳理理论研究的类型以及不同理论研究类型背后的方法论逻辑。这使得公共行政学理论研究出现方法论逻辑张冠李戴的情况,一定程度上削弱了研究质量的判定标准。通过比较不同理论研究类型的研究目的、研究意义和影响,梳理不同理论研究类型之间的逻辑差异,可以明晰理论研究的一般逻辑及研究标准。
Theoretical studies are significant to public administration(PA)research.They are a necessary component of administrative knowledge.The quality of PA research to a large extent relies upon the quality of theoretical studies in the academic discipline of PA.However,the existing studies of the PA methodology usually concentrate on the practical methods associated with empirical data.Few studies develop the typology of PA theoretical studies and their diverse logics.In this regard,PA studies have the risk of mismatching theoretical methods with inappropriate research questions.Based on the differentiation of different purposes,significance and impact of diverse types of theoretical research,this article develops a typology of PA theoretical studies through clarifying their general logic and research criteria.
