Objective:To compare effects of resin filling and polymeric ceramic inlay in repairing tooth defects.Methods:80 patients with tooth defects(80 teeth)were selected as the research objects, and were divided into study group and control group according to the random number table method,40 cases(40 teeth)in each. The control group was treated with resin filling method, while the study group was treated with polymeric ceramic inlay. The repair success rate, mastication efficiency, bite force and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups 3 months after the treatment. Results:The repair success rate in the study group was 95.00%,which was significantly higher than 65.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the masticatory efficiency and bite force of the two groups were significantly improved;those of the study group were higher than those of the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The patient satisfaction rate of the study group was 95.00%,which was significantly higher than 60.00%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The polymeric ceramic inlay materials in repairing the tooth defects can improve the repair success rate, the mastication efficiency, the bite force and the patient satisfaction. Moreover,it is superior to resin filling treatment.
