To explore the effect of dietary selenium yeast on florfenicol residues in tissues of the laying hens and eggs, one hundred and eighty 132-day-age Jinghong No.1 laying hens were randomly divided into two groups with 3 replicates per group and 30 hens per replicate. The hens in the control group were fed with basal diet, experimental group was fed with basal diet supplemented with 250 mg/kg yeast selenium. Florfenicol was administered in diet with 1 g/kg for 5 consecutive days. Eggs collected from day 2 of administration to day 14 of withdrawal, and heart, spleen, ovary and other tissues obtained from day 7 of withdrawal were used for florfenicol residues detection. The results showed that adding selenium yeast reduced the highest concentration of florfenicol residues in eggs, and the residual time of florfenicol in eggs was slightly prolonged; The changes in tissue distribution showed that the drug content in ovary was significantly decreased and in spleen and lung were significantly increased(P<0.01). In conclusion, dietary selenium yeast could prolong the residue time of florfenicol in eggs to a certain extent, and also change the distribution of florfenicol in different organs.
