Under the guidance of holistic view, traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) treatment of malignant tumors based on syndrome differentiation has the advantages of being practical and effective, without obvious side effects, and having obvious economic benefits. Proteomics refers to the study of the function, structure and interaction of all proteins expressed by genes by using protein separation technology, mass spectrometry identification technology and bioinformatics. The integrity and dynamic technical characteristics of proteomics are consistent with the holistic thinking and syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper reviewed the application of proteomics in exploring the syndrome essence of malignant tumor and revealing the target of TCM prevention and treatment in recent years,so as to provide ideas for expanding the research of TCM prevention and treatment of malignant tumors.
