To make better use of Angus cattle resources and speed up the breeding of high-grade beef cattle. We studied the changes of weight gain and growth indexes of Angus cattle and different crossbred beef cattle, and improved Angus cattle with Piedmont,Limousin and Simmental frozen semen crosses, and selected the best crossbred combination.Compared with pure Angus calves, there were significant differences in birth weight, body weight and body size of Piemonte,Limousin,Simmental and Angus hybrid F1 calves at 90,120 and 180 days(P<0.05).The weight of 180-day-old female calves was 214.96±14.16 kg in Piemonte,204.30±18.38 kg in Limousin and 211.38±24.09 kg in Simmental, respectively, which were significantly higher than 190.17±11.75 kg in pure Angus calves(P<0.05).The weight of 180-day-old male calves was 242.79±20.93 kg in Piemonte,234.85±28.89 kg in Limousin and 223.50±23.35 kg in Simmental, which are significantly higher than 199.29±2.41 kg for pure-bred Angus calves. The interbreed crossing between Piedmont and Angus cattle has the best effect and can significantly improve the performance of Angus cattle, which will provide a basis for improving the performance of Angus cattle and producing high-quality beef.
