摘要
本研究以王初明的续论为理论框架,通过对比公安本科院校非英语专业学习者在续译和非续译任务中的表现,探讨续译在涉外警务文本翻译教学中的协同效应,验证该方法能否提高学习者的翻译水平。对比实验结果显示:1)续译对涉外警务文本汉英互译具有协同效应,该效应在学习者运用考查词组和翻译技巧中得以体现;2)续译能提高学习者的翻译水平,高水平组和低水平组的汉英互译成绩都有一定提升,但高水平组汉译英和英译汉水平的发展依然不对称,低水平组的汉译英和英译汉水平呈现均衡发展态势。访谈结果表明,总体而言,实验组对续译持积极态度。本研究丰富了续论的实证研究,对翻译教学实践具有一定的启示意义。
With Wang Chuming’s Continuation Theory as the theoretical framework,this study focuses on the alignment effect of translation continuation in foreigner-related policing texts by comparing the performance of non-English major learners from one police college in completing Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation tasks,and verifies whether this method can improve the learners’translation competence.The results show that:1)translation continuation tasks have formed an alignment effect on Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation of foreigner-related policing texts,which is reflected in the learners’application of tested phrases and translation skills;2)translation continuation tasks can improve the learners’translation competence,and the test scores of translation between the high-level group and the low-level group have been improved regularly.However,the development of Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation is still asymmetric in the high-level group,whereas it has developed symmetrically in the low-level group.The interview results show that learners from the experimental group hold a positive attitude towards translation continuation in general.These findings have enriched the empirical research of Continuation Theory and will play a positive role in translation pedagogy.
