摘要
读者与译者的频繁互动是网络小说传播过程中的突出特征,这一特征在当前中国网络小说海外译介热潮中扮演着怎样的角色?发挥着怎样的作用?对中国文学、文化的外译进程又将带来什么影响?本文以网络小说《魔道祖师》的英译为例,考察其翻译过程中读者与译者的交流互动,特别是读者反馈对译者翻译行为以及译文面貌的影响和作用,试图回答以上问题。通过系统分析该小说英译文连载平台与社交媒体上的读者反馈以及译者的相关反应,笔者发现,读者对译介活动的积极参与不仅可以为提升网络小说翻译质量提供一种解决思路,同时也可以借助读者的互动讨论拓展与文本传播相关的话题,在网络无处不在的当下有效推动文化输出。
One of the characteristics of network literature is the interaction with its readers, which may insert some influence on the dissemination of Chinese network literature in today’s world. What is the influence? Can it help the going-out of Chinese literature or even Chinese culture as a whole? To answer these questions, this paper takes The Founder of Diabolism as an example and examines the interaction between readers and the translator during its serialization and the translator’s response to readers’ feedback to find that readers’ criticism and confusion may help to improve the quality of the translation. Meanwhile, the discussion and interaction among readers can also become an effective agent to introduce Chinese culture.
