摘要
梵蒂冈图书馆收藏中国传统古籍的历程始于16世纪末至17世纪初入藏的4部汉籍。其后300余年间,该馆陆续获得数量可观的中国传统古籍,主要来源包括巴拉丁图书馆与意大利传教士康和子的中文藏书,以及1902年从传信部移交的一批汉籍。这批汉籍主要由巴贝里尼图书馆、意大利传教士余天明、法国传教士傅圣泽、意大利汉学家蒙突奇的收藏构成。1922年伯希和为梵蒂冈图书馆编纂汉籍目录时,该馆收藏的中国传统古籍总量约350部。其特点包括:刊刻时间多在乾隆六十年前,含一些稀见品种、独特版本、名家旧藏、中外学者批注本。其藏品的种类可反映出欧洲学者的思想特征和学术倾向,有助于研究汉籍在欧洲流传的历史。
Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana began to collect four traditional Chinese ancient books from the late 16th century to the early 17th century.Over the next 300 years,it has gradually acquired a considerable number of traditional Chinese ancient books,which were sourced from Bibliotheca Palatina,and the Chinese collections of the Italian missionary Carlo Orazi da Castorano.It also includes the collection of Chinese books transferred by Congregatio de Propaganda Fide in 1902,which was composed by the Chinese collections in Biblioteca Barberini,the collections of Italian missionary Jean-Fran?ois Foucquet,and Italian sinologist Antonio Montucci.The total number of Chinese books in Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana was 350 when Paul Pelliot compiled its catalogue in 1922.Those 350 books have the following characters.Most of them were published before the 60th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong(1795)and contained some rare categories,unique editions,the old collections of personages,along with annotated editions by Chinese and overseas scholars.The category of collections in Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana indicates European scholars’characteristics of thoughts and academic inclination.Furthermore,it contributes to research on the history of the spread of Chinese books in Europe.
