Objective To explore the relationship between self-efficacy and cognitive impairment in elderly human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)/acquiredimmune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)patients,so as to provide reference for intervention strategies to improve self-efficacy in elderly HIV/AIDS patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods From January to June 2022,elderly HIV/AIDS patients aged 50 years and above were randomly selected to investigate their basic information,self-efficacy level and cognitive function using the general situation questionnaire, the Scale of Self-Efficacy(GSES)and the Montreal Cognitive Scale(MoCA).Results A total of 248 elderly HIV/AIDS patients were investigated, the elderly patients with low self-efficacy accounted for 36.29%,the elderly patients with MCI accounted for 41.53%,and the elderly patients with low self-efficacy combined with MCI accounted for 34.68%.Pearson correlation analysis showed that MOCA score was positively correlated with GSES score(r=0.772,P<0.001).Conclusion The self-efficacy of elderly HIV/AIDS patients is at a medium to low level, and self-efficacy is positively correlated with cognitive function.
