Unlike the one-dimensional media evolution theory, the co-evolution theory emphasizes the bi-directional causal relationship between the various actors who are trying to change each other in the media ecosystem. As a typical reading community on TikTok,"#BookTok"has not only hugely boosted the confidence of the print book market, but also made reading a collective activity for young readers. This article examines this new reading ecology from the perspective of co-evolution and finds that readers'choices of book affordance are constantly changing.Under the influence of the BookTok reading community, the production affordance of books has been strengthened and mobile affordance has been weakened, whereas social affordance has shifted from socialized reading to community-based reading.A deep understanding of this transitional process has great significance and provides suggestions for further carrying out nationwidereadingactivities.
