摘要
隐喻作为一种重要的修辞方式和认知手段,在政治语篇中发挥着关键作用。本文从认知语言学的视角出发,以日本现任首相岸田文雄施政演讲中的外交话语为语料,时间跨度涵盖了2021年至2023年,以概念隐喻为框架,运用了批评隐喻分析的方法,对语料中的隐喻表达特点及其使用动因与功能进行了考察,从而揭示其隐喻使用策略背后真正的政治意图。研究表明:日语政治语篇中外交话语的隐喻使用频率较高,其中拟人隐喻、旅程隐喻、建筑隐喻位居前三,并且岸田对隐喻表达的选择可以反映其意识形态与社会现实的动因,揭示了隐喻在形象塑造、说服共情、政策推广等方面的功能。
Metaphor,as a crucial rhetorical device and cognitive tool,plays a pivotal role in political discourse.This paper,adopting a cognitive linguistics perspective,utilizes diplomatic discourse from the policy speeches of Japan’s current Prime Minister,Fumio Kishida,as its corpus.The temporal scope spans from 2021 to 2023,and the study is framed within the conceptual metaphor framework.By employing the method of critical metaphor analysis,this research investigates the characteristics of metaphorical expressions in the corpus and examines the motives and functions behind their usage,thus unveiling the genuine political intentions underlying the metaphorical usage strategies.The study reveals that metaphor usage is prevalent in Japanese political discourse,with personification metaphors,journey metaphors,and building metaphors ranking as the top three.Furthermore,Kishida’s selection of metaphorical expressions can reflect the motives behind his ideology and societal reality,thereby shedding light on the functions of metaphor in image construction,persuasive empathy and policy promotion.
