摘要
与传统强调历史价值和美学价值等的建筑物质形态的保护不同,批判性保护与各类社会议题紧密结合,通过社会、政治和文化意义方面的理论研究工具的介入,在复杂的城乡环境中做出干预决策。种族平等是美国历史上无法回避的话题,也是美国当代遗产保护运动关注的重点之一。文章通过回溯与反思夏洛茨维尔市非裔美国人在城市历史空间中的“失语”,对夏洛茨维尔市之前的遗产保护进行批判性思考,并论述了如何通过当代保护实践,利用城市公共空间弥补在政治、文化、经济上被边缘化的非裔美国人长期以来在城市地理中的角色缺失,以重塑城市空间正义。
In contrast to the traditional emphasis on preserving the physical form of architecture,which focuses on age,history,and aesthetics,critical conservation practice is closely linked to various social issues.Its intervention decisions are made in complex urban and rural environments through theoretical tools of social,political,and cultural significance.Racial equality is an unavoidable topic in the history of the United States,making it a focal point of the contemporary historic preservation movement.This article traces the‘silence’of African Americans in Charlottesville’s historic urban environment and reflects on past conservation efforts.It further examines the contemporary conservation practice to reshape social justice in urban space by addressing the long-standing marginalisation of African Americans in terms of politics,economics,and culture within the urban geography.
