摘要
我们如今倡导中国自主知识体系的建构,主要是为建设中国式现代化服务的。那么,外国文学研究又能怎样服务于中国式现代化呢?在西方现代化进程中,许许多多优秀的文学家对社会转型带来的诸多问题提出了质疑,甚至提出了对策。这对中国的现代化建设是有借鉴意义的。对于要实现中国式现代化的我们来说,必须重视文学艺术才能抵达的情感结构,即流动中的社会体验,否则很可能重蹈西式现代化的覆辙。那么,情感结构/社会体验怎样才能转化为知识呢?以笔者愚见,至少有两条途径:一是重视文学艺术为我们带来的共情,二是要着眼于隐喻系统的构建。
The reason why we advocate the construction of a Chinese intellectual system is to serve the Chinese-style modernization. In what way, then, can foreign literature studies serve the Chinese-style modernization? In the course of Western modernization, a great many outstanding literati have brought queries, along with countermeasures, against the social transition which gives rise to various problems. This affords us lessons that merit attention. It is necessary for us, who endeavour to realize Chinese-style modernization, to set great store by art and literature so as to reach for the structure of feeling, namely the fluid social experience,otherwise we may find ourselves stranded on the same old disastrous road taken by Western countries. How can the structure of feeling/the fluid social experience, then, be transformed into knowledge? There are at least two ways in which we can get there: first, by attaching importance to sensus communis brought forth by art and literature;second, by constructing a system of metaphors.
