摘要
Hamlet汉译在中国已经历了百余年的历程,成为中国翻译文学的经典之作。本文以汉译本序跋为中心,考察7个版本的汉译本,并根据序跋价值将其分为三类:一是历史史料价值,尤其是出版行业和中国语言的发展变迁;二是翻译理论价值,文化语境对翻译策略的影响;三是社会文化价值,Hamlet的翻译和国家民族的命运紧密联系。序跋是复杂的文学场,Hamlet在中国的译本和时代发展交织在一起,见证了百年来社会的发展变革、外部生产环境和接受机制之变迁。
The translation of Hamlet from English to Chinese has undergone a journey over one hundred years,establishing itself as a classic in Chinese translated literature.This study conducts a comprehensive analysis of seven translation versions of Hamlet,especially their prefaces and postscripts.Based on their value,this study divides them into three types.The primary category is the historical documentary value(culture interpretation):the prefaces and postscripts document the historical transition from the late Qing Dynasty to the New Culture Movement,to the development of modern China,record the changes of publishing industry and language evolution.The secondary category is translation theory value:the social progress and changing cultural background influenced the application of translation strategies,forming the changes from compiling and adaption under domestication strategy to the foreignization strategy of“dance to tune”.This transition aimed to restore the authenticity of Shakespeare s plays.The tertiary category is social and cultural value(culture adaption):the translation of Hamlet is closely intertwined with the trajectory of the country and nation.The centennial trajectory of Hamlet translation presents its change from a tool of cultural reform to a text of li-terary and academic value.Prefaces and postscripts are complex literary fields.The different translation versions of Hamlet are intertwined with the development of times,witnessing the development and transformation of the society in the past hundred years,as well as changes in the external production environment and acceptance mechanism.
