摘要
王育的《说文解字六书论正》是一部难得的清初《说文》学著作,其中对文献中的用字问题关涉颇多。《说文解字六书论正》通过注列“古今字”“假借”“变楷”“楷省”“替代”等术语揭示用字差异,所涉及的字际关系包括“本字-本字”“本字-借字”和“借字-借字”关系等,具体可以分为六类。用字变化既有汉字语义演变、职能演变和义音化趋势等语言文字的内部原因,又受到人们追求准确表达、书写便利、汉字美观和社会文化心理等外部因素的影响。《说文解字六书论正》揭示用字演变现象,为后世用字研究提供了参考材料,对研究清初的字用学观念和《说文》学思想具有重要价值。
Wang Yu’s Shuowen Jiezi Liushu Lunzheng(《说文解字六书论正》)is a rare academic work on Shuowen(《说文》)studies from the early Qing Dynasty,delving deeply into the issues of character usage found in ancient texts.Through annotating and categorizing phenomena such as Ancient and Modern Characters(古今字),Loan Characters(假借),Variant Forms(变楷),Simplifi ed Forms(楷省),and Substitution(替代),this work reveals the complexities of character evolution over time.The inter-character relationships involved in these usage variations encompass Original Character to Original Character(本字-本字),Original Character to Loan Character(本字-借字),and Loan Character to Loan Character(借字-借字),which can be further classifi ed into six specifi c categories.The evolution of characters is influenced by internal factors such as semantic changes,functional evolution,and phonetic trends in Chinese characters,as well as external factors like people’s pursuit of accurate expression,writing convenience,aesthetic appeal of Chinese characters,and societal and cultural psychology.Shuowen Jiezi Liushu Lunzheng(《说文解字六书论正》)sheds light on the diachronic evolution of character usage,offering valuable reference materials for subsequent studies on character usage and contributing significantly to understanding the character usage theories and Shuowen(《说文》)studies of the early Qing Dynasty.
