It is introduced systematically the distribution of colorful silk resources in the world and the color genetic controllaw,thedifferences of characteristics between colorful silk and cotton as well as special functions of colorful silk such as moisture etention,bacterial repellency, resistance to oxidation and protection from ultraviolet. It is comprehensively compared the development &application and technical methods of colorful silk resources between Japan, China, Thailand, India and ambodia.
