A series of LIPNs based on poly(vinyl acetate) and poly(butyl acrylate) was synthesized by seed emulsion polymerization. It is suggested that the compatibility between two components in polymer blends can be quantitatively characterized by compatible degree based on dynamic mechanical spectroscopy(DMS). The results of DMS show that the compatibility between PVA and PBA and damping properties of LIPNs can be improved by latex bidirectional interpenetrating technique and the copolymerization of BA with AN.
