摘要
本文试从语用的角度分析模糊限制语在政治演说中的功能。笔者认为 ,政治演说者恰当地使用模糊限制语可以使其话语更加可信稳妥 ,委婉客气 ,从而避免承担不必要的责任或招致批评 。
This paper provides a brief analysis of the pragmatic functions of hedges in political speeches.It holds that hedges can make the political speech more credible,flexible and polite,and therefore,relieve speakers of some of the responsibility for their statements and thus to avoid criticism.
