In this paper the structure and functions of the airborne electro-optical tracking and pointing platform are briefly described The control aim of the platform is analyzed and several kinds of control schemes, servo-structures and tracking controllers are compared The paper suggests that applying coaxial tracking concept, steering-mirror tracking structure and robust tracking controller to the airborne electro-optical tracking and pointing platform is the trend of development
