The Effects of Monolith on the Flow Field and Pressure Loss in Catalytic Converter

摘要 利用计算流体动力学(CFD)软件,建立了催化转化器流场的二维模型,对催化转化器的稳态流动进行了数值模拟.在此基础上对不同载体参数催化转化器的流动分布和压力损失进行数值计算,分析了载体长度、长径比和开口率等结构参数与催化转化器流场及压力损失的关系.数值计算表明:载体对气流的阻力能起到使之趋向于均匀分布的作用. A two-dimension model for the flow field in catalytic converter was established, and the steady state flow was simulated with the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code. Based on the model, the flow distribution and pressure loss in catalytic converters with different monolith parameters were simulated. The effects of the structure design factors, such as the length, the ratio of length to radius, and the aperture quotiety, on the flow field and pressure loss were discussed. It is proved that the flow becomes more uniform due to the resistance from monolith.
