An instrumental variable algorithm is used to identify hybrid continuous-time transfer function models of the Box–Jenkins form from discretetime prefiltered data, where the process model is a continuous-time transfer function, while the noise is represented as a discrete-time ARMA process. A novel penalized maximum-likelihood approach is used for estimating the discrete-time ARMA process and a circulatory noise elimination identification method is employed to estimate process model. The input–output data of a process are affected by additive circulatory noise in a closedloop. The noise-free input–output data of the process are obtained using the proposed method by removing these circulatory noise components. The process model can be achieved by using instrumental variable estimation method with prefiltered noise-free input–output data. The performance of the proposed hybrid parameter estimation scheme is evaluated by the Monte Carlo simulation analysis. Simulation results illustrate the efficacy of the proposed procedure. The methodology has been successfully applied in tuning of IMC based flow controller and a practical application demonstrates the applicability of the algorithm.展开更多

The traction can be determined using inverse methods in which displacement or strain measurements are taken at several points on the body. This paper presents an inverse method based on the method of fundamental solutions for the traction identification problem in two-dimensional anisotropic elasticity. The method of fundamental solutions is an efficient boundary-type meshless method widely used for analyzing various problems. Since the problem is linear, the sensitivity analysis is simply performed by solving the corresponding direct problem several times with different loads. The effects of important parameters such as the number of measurement data, the position of the measurement points, the amount of measurement error, and the type of measurement, i.e., displacement or strain, on the results are also investigated. The results obtained show that the presented inverse method is suitable for the problem of traction identification. It can be concluded from the results that the use of strain measurements in the inverse analysis leads to more accurate results than the use of displacement measurements. It is also found that measurement points closer to the boundary with unknown traction provide more reliable solutions. Additionally, it is found that increasing the number of measurement points increases the accuracy of the inverse solution. However, in cases with a large number of measurement points, further increasing the number of measurement data has little effect on the results.展开更多

文摘DNA barcoding has been extensively used for species identification. However, species identification of mixed samples or degraded DNA is limited by current DNA barcoding methods. In this study,we use plant species in Juglandaceae to evaluate an assembly-free reads accurate identification(AFRAID)method of species identification,a novel approach for precise species identification in plants.Specifically,we determined(1)the accuracy of DNA barcoding approaches in delimiting species in Juglandaceae,(2)the minimum size of chloroplast dataset for species discrimination,and(3)minimum amount of next generation sequencing(NGS)data required for species identification. We found that species identification rates were highest when whole chloroplast genomes were used, followed by taxon-specific DNA barcodes, and then universal DNA barcodes.Species identification of 100%was achieved when chloroplast genome sequence coverage reached 20%and the original sequencing data reached 500,000 reads.AFRAID accurately identified species for all samples tested after 500,000 clean reads, with far less computing time than common approaches. These results provide a new approach to accurately identify species, overcoming limitations of traditional DNA barcodes. Our method, which uses next generation sequencing to generate partial chloroplast genomes, reveals that DNA barcode regions are not necessarily fixed, accelerating the process of species identification.

文摘At present, the identification of tropical cyclone remote precipitation(TRP)requires subjective participation, leading to inconsistent results among different researchers despite adopting the same identification standard. Thus, establishing an objective identification method is greatly important. In this study,an objective synoptic analysis technique for TRP(OSAT_TRP)is proposed to identify TRP using daily precipitation datasets, historical tropical cyclone(TC)track data, and the ERA5 reanalysis data. This method includes three steps:first, independent rain belts are separated, and those that might relate to TCs'remote effects are distinguished according to their distance from the TCs.Second, the strong water vapor transport belt from the TC is identified using integrated horizontal water vapor transport(IVT).Third,TRP is distinguished by connecting the first two steps. The TRP obtained through this method can satisfy three criteria,as follows:1)the precipitation occurs outside the circulation of TCs,2)the precipitation is affected by TCs,and 3)a gap exists between the TRP and TC rain belt.Case diagnosis analysis, compared with subjective TRP results and backward trajectory analyses using HYSPLIT,indicates that OSAT_TRP can distinguish TRP even when multiple TCs in the Northwest Pacific are involved. Then,we applied the OSAT_TRP to select typical TRPs and obtained the synoptic-scale environments of the TRP through composite analysis.

文摘In scenarios such as vehicle radiation monitoring and unmanned aerial vehicle radiation detection, rapid measurements using a NaI(Tl)detector often result in low photon counts, weak characteristic peaks, and significant statistical fluctuations. These issues can lead to potential failures in peak-searching-based identification methods. To address the low precision associated with short-duration measurements of radionuclides, this paper proposes an identification algorithm that leverages heterogeneous spectral transfer to develop a low-count energy spectral identification model.Comparative experiments demonstrated that transferring samples from 26 classes of simulated heterogeneous gamma spectra aids in creating a reliable model for measured gamma spectra. With only 10%of target domain samples used for training, the accuracy on real low-count spectral samples was 95.56%.This performance shows a significant improvement over widely employed full-spectrum analysis methods trained on target domain samples. The proposed method also exhibits strong generalization capabilities, effectively mitigating overfitting issues in low-count energy spectral classification under short-duration measurements.

文摘Ocean energy has progressively gained considerable interest due to its sufficient potential to meet the world’s energy demand, and the blade is the core component in electricity generation from the ocean current. However, the widened hydraulic excitation frequency may satisfy the blade resonance due to the time variation in the velocity and angle of attack of the ocean current, even resulting in blade fatigue and destructively interfering with grid stability.A key parameter that determines the resonance amplitude of the blade is the hydrodynamic damping ratio(HDR).However,HDR is difficult to obtain due to the complex fluid-structure interaction(FSI).Therefore,a literature review was conducted on the hydrodynamic damping characteristics of blade-like structures. The experimental and simulation methods used to identify and obtain the HDR quantitatively were described, placing emphasis on the experimental processes and simulation setups. Moreover, the accuracy and efficiency of different simulation methods were compared, and the modal work approach was recommended. The effects of key typical parameters, including flow velocity, angle of attack, gap, rotational speed, and cavitation,on the HDR were then summarized, and the suggestions on operating conditions were presented from the perspective of increasing the HDR.Subsequently, considering multiple flow parameters, several theoretical derivations and semi-empirical prediction formulas for HDR were introduced, and the accuracy and application were discussed.Based on the shortcomings of the existing research, the direction of future research was finally determined. The current work offers a clear understanding of the HDR of blade-like structures, which could improve the evaluation accuracy of flow-induced vibration in the design stage.

文摘Real-time identification of rock strength and cuttability based on monitoring while cutting during excavation is essential for key procedures such as the precise adjustment of excavation parameters and the in-situ modification of hard rocks. This study proposes an in-telligent approach for predicting rock strength and cuttability.A database comprising 132 data sets is established, containing cutting para-meters(such as cutting depth and pick angle),cutting responses(such as specific energy and instantaneous cutting rate),and rock mech-anical parameters collected from conical pick-cutting experiments. These parameters serve as input features for predicting the uniaxial compressive strength and tensile strength of rocks using regression fitting and machine learning methodologies. In addition, rock cuttabil-ity is classified using a combination of the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, and subsequently iden-tified through machine learning approaches.Various models are compared to determine the optimal predictive and classification models. The results indicate that the optimal model for uniaxial compressive strength and tensile strength prediction is the genetic algorithm-optimized backpropagation neural network model, and the optimal model for rock cuttability classification is the radial basis neural network model.

文摘To solve the problems of redundant feature information, the insignificant difference in feature representation, and low recognition accuracy of the fine-grained image, based on the ResNeXt50 model,an MSFResNet network model is proposed by fusing multi-scale feature information.Firstly,a multi-scale feature extraction module is designed to obtain multi-scale information on feature images by using different scales of convolution kernels.Meanwhile, the channel attention mechanism is used to increase the global information acquisition of the network.Secondly, the feature images processed by the multi-scale feature extraction module are fused with the deep feature images through short links to guide the full learning of the network, thus reducing the loss of texture details of the deep network feature images, and improving network generalization ability and recognition accuracy. Finally, the validity of the MSFResNet model is verified using public datasets and applied to wild mushroom identification.Experimental results show that compared with ResNeXt50 network model, the accuracy of the MSFResNet model is improved by 6.01%on the FGVC-Aircraft common dataset. It achieves 99.13%classification accuracy on the wild mushroom dataset, which is 0.47%higher than ResNeXt50.Furthermore,the experimental results of the thermal map show that the MSFResNet model significantly reduces the interference of background information, making the network focus on the location of the main body of wild mushroom, which can effectively improve the accuracy of wild mushroom identification.

文摘The field of biometric identification has seen significant advancements over the years, with research focusing on enhancing the accuracy and security of these systems. One of the key developments is the integration of deep learning techniques in biometric systems. However, despite these advancements, certain challenges persist. One of the most significant challenges is scalability over growing complexity.Traditional methods either require maintaining and securing a growing database, introducing serious security challenges,or relying on retraining the entiremodelwhen new data is introduced-a process that can be computationally expensive and complex. This challenge underscores the need for more efficient methods to scale securely. To this end,we introduce a novel approach that addresses these challenges by integrating multimodal biometrics, cancelable biometrics, and incremental learning techniques. This work is among the first attempts to seamlessly incorporate deep cancelable biometrics with dynamic architectural updates, applied incrementally to the deep learning model as new users are enrolled, achieving high performance with minimal catastrophic forgetting.By leveraging a One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network(1D-CNN)architecture combined with a hybrid incremental learning approach, our system achieves high recognition accuracy, averaging 98.98% over incrementing datasets, while ensuring user privacy through cancelable templates generated via a pre-trained CNN model and random projection. The approach demonstrates remarkable adaptability, utilizing the least intrusive biometric traits like facial features and fingerprints, ensuring not only robust performance but also long-term serviceability.

文摘Expanding the specific surface area of substrates and carrying out precise surface engineering of imprinted nanocavities are crucial methods for enhancing the identification efficiency of molecularly imprinted polymers(MIPs).To implement this synergistic strategy, bioinspired surface engineering was used to incorporate dual covalent receptors via precise post-imprinting modifications(PIMs)onto mesoporous silica nanosheets. The prepared sorbents(denoted as‘‘D-PMIPs”)were utilized to improve the specific identification of adenosine 5-monophosphate(AMP).Significantly,the mesoporous silica nanosheets possess a high surface area of approximately 498.73 m^(2)·g^(-1),which facilitates the formation of abundant specific recognition sites in the D-PMIPs.The dual covalent receptors are valuable for estab-lishing the spatial orientation and arrangement of AMP through multiple cooperative interactions.PIMs enable precise site-specific functionalization within the imprinted cavities, leading to the tailor-made formation of complementary binding sites. The maximum number of high-affinity binding sites(Nmax)of the D-PMIPs is 39.99 lmol·g^(-1),which is significantly higher than that of imprinted sorbents with a sin-gle receptor(i.e.,S-BMIPs or S-PMIPs).The kinetic data of the D-PMIPs can be effectively described by a pseudo-second-order model, indicating that the main binding mechanism involves synergistic chemisorption from boronate affinity and the pyrimidine base. This study suggests that using dual cova-lent receptors and PIMs is a reliable approach for creating imprinted sorbents with high selectivity,allow-ing for the controlled engineering of imprinted sites.

文摘Arabic Dialect Identification(DID)is a task in Natural Language Processing(NLP)that involves determining the dialect of a given piece of text in Arabic. The state-of-the-art solutions for DID are built on various deep neural networks that commonly learn the representation of sentences in response to a given dialect.Despite the effectiveness of these solutions, the performance heavily relies on the amount of labeled examples, which is labor-intensive to atain and may not be readily available in real-world scenarios. To alleviate the burden of labeling data, this paper introduces a novel solution that leverages unlabeled corpora to boost performance on the DID task.Specifically,we design an architecture that enables learning the shared information between labeled and unlabeled texts through a gradient reversal layer. The key idea is to penalize the model for learning source dataset specific features and thus enable it to capture common knowledge regardless of the label. Finally,we evaluate the proposed solution on benchmark datasets for DID.Our extensive experiments show that it performs signifcantly better, especially, with sparse labeled data.By comparing our approach with existing Pre-trained Language Models(PLMs),we achieve a new state-of-the-art performance in the DID field. The code will be available on GitHub upon the paper's acceptance.

文摘BACKGROUND Recently, the identification of cell apoptosis induced by natural products has become research hotspot and frontier in the biopharmaceutical and food industries under the umbrella of global green development worldwide.Traditionally, cell apoptosis is identified using morphological, biochemical, and cell cycle experiments, which is time consuming, and experimental materials are not from the same group, and it is very hard to ensure the identity and veracity of results of former and latter experiments.AIM To establish a selective, instant, and practical protocol to identify cell apoptosis induced by natural products.METHODS A one transient cell processing procedure(OTCPP)was used to detect human colorectal cancer LoVo cell apoptosis after treatment with Pinus massoniana bark extract(PMBE)at the morphological, biochemical, and cell cycle levels. The methods used included treatment with DNA gel electrophoresis, fluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry.RESULTS In PMBE-treated LoVo cells,we observed a DNA ladder on gel electrophoresis and fluorescence microscopy revealed"nuclear shrinkage, chromatin condensation or fragmentation".In addition, flow cytometry showed an"obvious apoptosis curve".Thus OTCPP achieved synchronous detection of the morphology, biochemistry, cell cycle, and the DNA content of the cells.CONCLUSION OTCPP can quickly identify apoptosis and measure the apoptosis rate, thereby unifying qualitative and quantitative analysis.
