HRIS examined in this study consists of performance appraisal and career management. Data were collected at the public universities located in West Sumatra using questionnaires as the main data collection tool in quantitative approach. Data were analysed using the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS). HRIS was measured by using the concept of behavior and found that independent variables significantly related to organizational performance. These results supported that the organizational learning capability as moderating variable influenced the relationship between HRIS and organizational performance. The model stresses the importance of HRIS which supports the organizational performance at public universities. The results of this study indicate that at public universities in West Sumatra, the improvement of HRIS will lead to higher levels of organizational performance. Results of this study are expected to provide benefits to all stakeholders who have an interest in higher education, especially in information technology and performance.展开更多

The review of literature provided conceptual and empirical gaps that formed the basis of the conceptual hypotheses. The study adopted a quantitative approach and a survey that targeted a manufacturing firm in Kenya was utilized. A survey questionnaire was the tool of data collection and was distributed to the 96 non-managerial employees of a manufacturing firm. Out of the 96 questionnaires issued randomly, 86 were returned, indicating a 91.6% response rate. The reliability test showed that study dimensions were reliable. Inferential gtatisties was used to analyse data. Results showed that employee empowerment had a positive and significant influence on organizational performance; organizational commitment mediated the relationship between employee empowerment and organization performance; and OCB did not have a moderating effect.展开更多

A panel data on a sample of 333 conventional and 49 Islamic microfinance institutions (MFIs) between 1996 and 2012 of six different regions is used for this purpose and analyzes using the simple linear regression technique. The results show that the sustainability measered by operational autonomy (OSS) of Islamic MFIs (IMFIs) is sensitive to their social performance (SP), while the sustainability of Conventional MFIs (CMFIs) is sustained by their Financial Performance (FP) measured by return on assets (ROA). Thus, these latter seem to deviate from the main social objective focusing more on profitability. Indeed, this judgement is confirmed when the results also showed that their (CMFIs) FP is positively affected by the quality of credit portfolios which reveals the category of the targeted clients (the poorest of the poor are abandoned). On the contrary, FP of IMFIs seems to be mainly supported by their specific source of funding through the islamic financial contracts where the results revealed that their profitabilty is positively affected by their capital structure. Moreover, the results show that the organizational performance positively affects the sustainability of the two categories of MFIs.展开更多

Various research studies and statistical data world-wide show that the number of serious injuries and fatalities still remains high despite substantial efforts the industry has put in recent years in decreasing those numbers. This paper argues that the next level of safety performance will have to consider a transition from coping solely with workplace dangers, to a more systemic model taking organizational risks in consideration. In this aspect, lessons learned from the nuclear industry may be useful, as organizational learning processes are believed to be more universal than the technologies in which they are used. With the notable exception of major accidents, organizational performance has not received all the attention it deserves. A key element for reaching the next level of performance is to include organizational factors in low level events analyses, and approach the management as a risk control system. These factors will then appear not only in the event analysis, but in supervision activities, audits, change management and the like. Many recent event analyses across various industries have shown that organizational factors play a key role in creating conditions for triggering major accidents(aviation, railway transportation, nuclear industry, oil exploitation, mining, etc.).In this paper, a perspective that may be used in supervisory activities, self-assessments and minor events investigations, is presented. When ingrained in an organizational culture, such perspective has the highest potential for continuous safety improvement.展开更多

Out of the 96 questionnaires issued randomly, 86 were returned, indicating a 91.6% response rate. The reliability test showed that study dimensions were reliable. Inferential gtatisties was used to analyse data. Results showed that employee empowerment had a positive and significant influence on organizational performance; organizational commitment mediated the relationship between employee empowerment and organization performance; and OCB did not have a moderating effect.
文摘In this paper,we theorize about the impacts of human resource management(HRM) practices on enterprises' performance in Abidjan(Cote d'Ivoire).Specifically,we emphasize the correlation between HRM practices and the perceived enterprise performance.A factor analysis of different HRM practices was utilized. The exploratory factor analysis on the HRM practices for managerial employees revealed three HRM dimensions:employee development, feedback systems, and pay/organization.A separate factor analysis for HRM practices for non-managerial employees led to the same conclusions. These three factors resemble those obtained in previous empirical study and discussed in the theoretical HRM literature. Therefore, the relationship among these three HRM dimensions and their relationship with enterprise performance was examined in the present study to facilitate comparison between managerial and non-managerial employees in the Ivorian context.
文摘The purpose of this paper is to study the factors determining the performance (organizational, social, and financial) of conventional and Islamic microfinance institutions and their impact on maintaining the sustainability of these institutions. Moreover, the results show that the organizational performance positively affects the sustainability of the two categories of MFIs.

文摘The daily operations in the mining industry are still a significant source of risk with regard to occupational safety and health(OS & H). When ingrained in an organizational culture, such perspective has the highest potential for continuous safety improvement.
文摘Dahu, a small township in northern Taiwan, is famous for its produce of strawberries. Near Dahu, there are some attractions, such as hot springs, native Taiwan Residents tribes and a national park named Shei-pa. In order to better support more small businesses in this area, the local government is eager to promote an industrial cluster of agriculture and tourism based on the well-developed strawberry farms. In this research, the authors investigated 200 strawberry farmers to examine forming factors of the cluster, and effects of cluster on organizational performance. The findings are firstly, capital resource is regarded as the most effective forming factor of the cluster. Secondly, institutionalization, interaction mechanism and knowledge flow positively intermediate the clustering effects on organizational performance.
