For complex 3D geoelectric structure, tensor CSAMT is more suitable. In this paper, we discuss 3D tensor CSAMT forward modeling using the vector finite-element method. To verify the feasibility of the algorithm, we calculate the electric field, magnetic field, and tensor impedance of the 3D CSAMT far-zone field in layered media and compare them with theoretical solutions. In addition, a three-dimensional anomaly in half-space is also simulated, and the response characteristics of the impedance tensor and the apparent resistivity and impedance phase are analyzed. The results suggest that the vector finite-element method produces high-precision electromagnetic field and impedance tensor data, satisfies the electric field discontinuity, and does not require divergence correction using the vector finite-element method.展开更多

The carrier, the aircraft body and the movable parts of the landing gears are treated as independent entities. These entities are assembled into a multi-rigid-body system with flexible links. Dynamical equations of each entity are derived on the basis of the Newton law and the Euler transformation. Using the invariance property of the tensor, the dynamical and kinematical equations are converted to tensor forms which are invariant under time-dependent coordinate transformations. Then the tensor-formed equations are expressed by the matrix operation. Differential equation group of the matrix form is formulated for the programming. The closure of the model is discussed, and the simulation results are given.展开更多

Different models and tracking decisions were used by judging the type of estimation of each voxel. Thismethod should solve the cross-track problem. This study included eight healthy subjects, two axonal injury patients and seven demyelinating disease patients. This new algorithm clearly exhibited a difference in nerve fiber direction between axonal injury and demyelinating disease patients and healthy control subjects. Compared with fiber assignment with a continuous tracking algorithm, our novel method can track more and longer nerve fibers, and also can solve the fiber crossing problem.展开更多

Genetic heterogeneity and environmental factors play a critical role in the rate of disease progression and patients display faster declines once the symptoms have manifested. Since its original discovery, ALS has been associated with pathological alterations in motor neurons located in the spinal cord (SC), where neuronal loss by a mutation in the protein superoxide dismutase in parenthesis (mSOD1) and impairment in axonal connectivity, have been linked to early functional impairments. In addition, mechanisms of neuroinflammation, apoptosis, necroptosis and autophagy have been also implicated in the development of this disease. Among different animal models developed to study ALS, the transgenic G93A-SOD1 mouse has become recognized as a benchmark model for preclinical screening of ALS therapies. Furthermore, the progressive alterations in the locomotor phenotype expressed in this model closely resemble the progressive lower limb dysfunction of ALS patients. Among other imaging tools, MR diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has emerged as a crucial, noninvasive and real time neuroimaging tool to gather information in ALS. One of the current concerns with the use of DTI is the lack of biological validation of the microstructural information given by this technique. Although clinical studies using DTI can provide a remarkable insight on the targets of neurodegeneration and disease course, they lack histological correlations. To address these shortcomings, preclinical models can be designed to validate the microstructural information unveiled by this particular MRI technique. Thus, the scope of this review is to describe how MRI diffusion and optical microscopy evaluate axonal structural changes at early stages of the disease in a preclinical model of ALS.展开更多

The derivation was based on partitioning the buoyant flux tensor into a two-dimensional and a three-dimensional component. The five-term basis was formed with the two-dimensional component of the buoyant flux tensor. As such, the derived EASM is limited to two-dimensional flows only. In this paper, a more general approach using a seven-term representation without partitioning the buoyant flux tensor is used to derive an EASM valid for two- and three-dimensional turbulent buoyant flows. Consequently, the basis tensors are formed with the fully three-dimensional buoyant flux tensor. The derived EASM has the two-dimensional flow as a special case. The matrices and the representation coefficients are further simplified using a four-term representation. When this four-term representation model is applied to calculate two-dimensional homogeneous buoyant flows, the results are essentially identical with those obtained previously using the two-dimensional component of the buoyant flux tensor. Therefore, the present approach leads to a more general EASM formulation that is equally valid for two- and three-dimensional turbulent buoyant flows.展开更多

In this work, we propose the use of diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) metrics to assess specific ultrastructural changes in the central nervous system during the early neurodegenerative stages of ALS.Methods: Ultra-high field MRI and DTI data at 17.6 T were obtained from fixed, excised mouse brains, and spinal cords from ALS(G93 A-SOD1) mice. Results: Changes in fractional anisotropy(FA) and linear, planar, and spherical anisotropy ratios(C_L, C_P, and C_S, respectively) of the diffusion eigenvalues were measured in white matter(WM) and gray matter(GM) areas associated with early axonal degenerative processes(in both the brain and the spinal cord). Specifically, in WM structures(corpus callosum, corticospinal tract, and spinal cord funiculi) as the disease progressed, FA, C_L, and C_P values decreased, whereas C_S values increased. In GM structures(prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and central spinal cord) FA and C_P decreased, whereas the C_L and C_S values were unchanged or slightly smaller. Histological studies of a fluorescent mice model(YFP, G93 A-SOD1 mouse) corroborated the early alterations in neuronal morphology and axonal connectivity measured by DTI.Conclusions: Changes in diffusion tensor shape were observed in this animal model at the early, nonsymptomatic stages of ALS. Further studies of C_L, C_P, and C_S as imaging biomarkers should be undertaken to refine this neuroimaging tool for future clinical use in the detection of the early stages of ALS.展开更多

Its underpinning metaphysics is “entangled fusion”: this is the macroscopic entanglement concept inspired by high-dimensional (HD) quantum computation (the “quantum brain”), in which any number of entangled wave-functions can be highly correlated, with neuron-like signaling among them. From this entangled perspective, war and battle is seen essentially as a holistic phenomenon: if any one of a set of mutually entangled warring parties is removed from the equation, then the war as it is instantly stops, possibly to be replaced by a new conflict between the remaining parties but distinct from that which it supplants. Ocean, carrier, aircraft, and atmosphere are treated as aggregation agents, the detailed components like catapult, landing gears, and disturbances are considered as meta-agents, which belong to their aggregation agent. Thus, the model with two layers is formed i.e. the aggregation agent layer and the meta-agent layer. The information communication among all agents is described. The meta-agents within one aggregation agent communicate with each other directly by information sharing, but the meta-agents, which belong to different aggregation agents exchange their information through the aggregation layer first, and then perceive it from the sharing environment, that is the aggregation agent. Thus, not only the hierarchy model is built, but also the environment perceived by each agent is specified. Meanwhile, the problem of balancing the independency of agent and the resource consumption brought by real-time communication within multi-agent system (MAS) is resolved. Each agent involved in carrier-based aircraft catapult launch is depicted, with considering the interaction within disturbed atmospheric environment and multiple motion bodies including carrier, aircraft, and landing gears. The models of reactive agents among them are derived based on tensors, and the perceived messages and inner frameworks of each agent are characterized. Finally, some results of a simulation instance are given. The simulation and modeling of dynamic system based on multi-agent system is of benefit to express physical concepts and logical hierarchy clearly and precisely. The system model can easily draw in kinds of other agents to achieve a precise simulation of more complex system. This modeling technique makes the complex integral dynamic equations of multibodies decompose into parallel operations of single agent, and it is convenient to expand, maintain, and reuse the program codes.展开更多
