However, what specific content should be...In 2012, China National Ministry of Education issued a new undergraduate course catalog, economic statistics to be classified as a second level discipline of applied economics. However, what specific content should be included in the second level discipline has become a very important issue. What should be taught to students or how can they adapt to the needs of the social market aroused a wide attention. For this case, the National Ministry of Education has given a clearly provision for economic statistics＇ core courses, but whether these main courses can reflect the actual needs and characteristics of economic statistics or not still needs some considerations and discussions. This article started from the angle of the studies on China and the U.S. Journals concerning economic statistics. Using text mining by R, a recent mainstream statistical analysis software, gives a comparative analysis on the contents of economic statistics for recent decades. We created wordcloud about the contents of core statistical journals by R which can help us visually examine the course of economic statistics discipline development for the comparative study. Besides, we drew a conclusion that there were significant differences between China and America＇s economic statistics, the main difference is the United States pay more attention to the exploration of new methods and be able to adapt to market demand, the development of China＇s economic statistics are still more traditional, it need a better understanding of the multi-disciplinary knowledge of education, such as Bayesian and dynamics. Another is that the curriculum of China＇s economic statistics are corrected for China＇s actual situation, a new training program pay more attention to students＇ practical ability and social practice. There are a lot of practical problems remain untouched or unsolved which need efforts of decades probably.展开更多

We analyzed a f＇mal examination in this subj...This work was aimed at assessing one of the examinations applied to the students enrolled in courses of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine, UNAM. We analyzed a f＇mal examination in this subject. The test consisted of 80 multiple choice questions. The database was exported to Excel and then to the SPSS 16 statistical software for statistical analyses. The following techniques were used： （1） dificulty index （Pi）, （2） discrimination index （Di）, （3） discrimination coefficient （rpbis）, and （4） Cronbach＇s alpha. Those questions that complied with 3 of the 4 mentioned techniques were considered acceptable; of the 80 questions, only 25 were accepted corresponding to 31%. The topic with the largest number of accepted questions was Water and pH （75%）, and the topics without accepted questions were Bioenergetics and Hormones （0%）. It is recommended that the faculty members that elaborate multiple choice examinations must know the subject, and should have a formation in didactics and educational methodology.展开更多

It was formed to bring together three main institutes located in Ve...The UNEXPO （National Experimental Polytechnic University） system is a public institution dedicated to teaching and researching in engineering area. It was formed to bring together three main institutes located in Venezuelan cities and three more institutes located in rural areas, so that to collectively and collaboratively serve the regions in optimal ways. The academic activity started in 1982 graduating engineers and technicians, although less effort has shown by authorities to develop programs in graduate engineering areas. A proposal for designing a structured graduate program is presented. The structured program presented, will hopefully set the basis to develop graduate and doctoral studies in engineering and related areas to the whole university system, and to achieve academic and social development to the country.展开更多
