Bio-inspired manufacturing system can well satisfy these requirements. For this purpose, by referencing the biological organization structure and the mechanism, a bio-inspired manufacturing cell is presented from a novel view, and then a bio-inspired self-adaptive manufacturing model is established based on the ultra-short feedback mechanism of the neuro-endocrine system. A hio-inspired self-adaptive manufacturing system coordinated model is also established based on the neuro-endocrine-immunity system (NEIS). Finally, an example based on pheromone communication mechanism indicates that the robustness of the whole manufacturing system is improved by bio-inspired technologies.展开更多

At that time few researches on it have been conducted due to less popularity of the products even among the researching field. Since then some of the bio-functional works of the black garlic gradually appeared along with gaining of its popularity. Representative bio-activities reported up to now are: (1) enhancement of anti-tumor potency in the mouse tumor model; (2) immune system enforcement, and suppressive act against allergic symptoms caused by decreasing IL-4 cytokine production; (3) bacteria killing potency; (4) anti-oxidant activity; (5) reduction of carcinogenic potency; (6) lowering cholesterol level and preventive work against obesity; (7) controlling high blood pressure; (8) beneficial effect against diabetics; (9) regenerative effect to the burned skin (Clinical study case) et al. On the black garlic business (marketing), the Aomori Black Garlic Union (Association) had been established in Aomori Prefecture to offer the citizen high quality, high safety and high security black garlic (products) aiming at contribution for health improvement. All union members are now exerting themselves to the most to attain the high quality production of the black garlic. The quality proving certification seal will be issued to the products that passed the quality approval test by the third party inspections to place it on the their products. This system is now effectively working to guarantee the garlic quality and differentiate the Union member's products from others at the markets.展开更多

The methods commonly used are not suitable to solve complicated problems because the calculating time rises exponentially with the increase of the problem size. In this paper, a new algorithm - immune based scheduling algorithm (IBSA) is proposed. After the description of the mathematics model and the calculating procedure of immune based scheduling, some examples are tested in the software system called HM IM& C that is developed usingVC+ +6.0. The testing results show that IBSA has high efficiency to solve scheduling problem.展开更多

Based on negative selection algorithm, the mature detectors are generated. By introducing clonal selection algorithm, the detectors with higher affinity are selected to undergo a proliferation and somatic hyper-mutation process, so that more excellent detector offspring can be generated. Experimental result shows that the detection model has a higher detection rate for unknown smartphone malware, and better detection performance can be achieved by increasing the clone generation.展开更多

The immune modelling includes the innate immune modelling and the adaptive immune modelling. The self/non-self selection includes detection and recognition, and the self/non-self detection is based on the normal model of the demo. After the detection, the non-self recognition is based on learning unknown non-self for the adaptive immunization. The learning was designed on the neural network or on the learning mechanism from examples. The last step is elimination of all the non-self and failover of the demo. The immunization of the mobile robot demo is programmed with Java to test effectiveness of the approach. Some worms infected the mobile robot demo, and caused the abnormity. The results of the immunization simulations show that the immune program can detect 100% worms, recognize all known Worms and most unknown worms, and eliminate the worms. Moreover, the damaged files of the mobile robot demo can all be repaired through the normal model and immunization. Therefore, the immune modelling of the mobile robot demo is effective and programmable in some anti-worms and abnormity detection applications.展开更多

Neurons, flagellated cells, and pigment cells have been traditionally used as model systems to study the cellular functions of kinesins. Here, we report silkworm posterior silkgland (PSG), specialized cells with an extensive endomembrane system for intracellular transport and efficient secretion of fibroin, as a novel model for kinesin study. To investigate kinesindriven intracellular transport in PSG cells, we cloned five silkworm kinesin-like proteins (KLPs), BmKinesin-1, BmKinesin-6, BmKinesin-7, BmKinesin-13, and BmKinesin-14A. We determined their expression patterns by relative real-time PCR and western blotting. Immunofluorescence microscopy verified their colocalization with microtubules. By combining pull-down assays, LC-MS/MS, and western blotting analysis, we identified many potential cargoes of BmKinesin-1 in PSG, including fibroin-containing granules and exuperantia-associated ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes. Moreover, BmKinesin-13 overexpression disrupted the microtubule network in BmN cells, which is consistent with a role of Kinesin-13 in regulating microtubule dynamics in other organisms. On the basis of these results, we concluded that PSG might have advantages in elucidating mechanisms of intracellular transport in secretory tissues and could serve as a potential model for kinesin studies.展开更多

Four types of immune cells-CTLs (cytotoxic T lymphocytes), macrophages, NK (natural killer) and helper T cells-known to play the most significant roles in developing breast cancer immunity were modeled using differential equations. The model was then applied to different cancer growth rates and simulated using MATLAB software tool. The parameters of the model were based on experimental and clinical results from published articles. Results supported clinical studies that maximal breast cancer immunity depends mostly on each of the four immune cell types chosen. It was observed that for a given breast cancer growth rate, there was an optimal activation that maximized the response of the immune system. The effectiveness of the immune system resulted in the decrease in breast cancer killing rates. These results highlighted the importance of immune system activations in breast cancer development and treatment. Therefore, the model and its simulation provided a robust framework to better understand breast cancer progression and response to the immune system.展开更多
