The discrete model is directly built on the l...To reduce the difficulty of implementation and shorten the runtime of the traditional Kim-Fisher model, an entirely discrete Kim-Fisher-like model on lattices is proposed. The discrete model is directly built on the lattices, and the greedy algorithm is used in the implementation to continually decrease the energy function. First, regarding the gray values in images as discrete-valued random variables makes it possible to make a much simpler estimation of conditional entropy. Secondly, a uniform method within the level set framework for two-phase and multiphase segmentations without extension is presented. Finally, a more accurate approximation to the curve length on lattices with multi-labels is proposed. The experimental results show that, compared with the continuous Kim-Fisher model, the proposed model can obtain comparative results, while the implementation is much simpler and the runtime is dramatically reduced.展开更多

The photoreactivity of g-C3N4 depends on the prepa- ration conditions to a large extent. In this work, we linked the preparation conditions of g-C3N4 to its stability and photocatalytic activity through dye photodegradation experiments and sensitivity mathematical analyses. The sensitivity mathematical analyses show that the effect of calcination temperature is more significant than calcination time on the photoreactivity of g-C3N4. The photocatalytic activity of optimized g-C3N4 in rhodamine B (RhB) degradation under visible light was 100 times higher than that of non-optimized one. The enhanced performance can be attributed to the increased specific surface area of g-C3N4 and the increased migration velocity of photogenerated electron-hole pairs on the surface. This work deepens the understanding of the relation between preparation conditions and the charateristics of g-C3N4, and provides an extremely simple method for significantly improving the photoreactivity of g-C3N4.展开更多
In reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), the mobile phase condition for separating eight isoflavones (daidzin, glycitin, genistin, 6'-o-acetyl daidzin, 6'-o-malonyl genistin, daidzein, ...In reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), the mobile phase condition for separating eight isoflavones (daidzin, glycitin, genistin, 6'-o-acetyl daidzin, 6'-o-malonyl genistin, daidzein, glycitein and genistein) was optimized using the HCI (High-Purity Separation Laboratory, Department of Chemical Engineering, Inha University) program software. The optimum composition of mobile phase for the separation of the eight isoflavones was obtained. The elution profiles were calculated by the plate theory based on the equations of retention factor, In k=A+BF+CF2, where F was the volume percentage of acetonitrile with 0.1% acetic acid (AA). The first mobile phase composition was water with 0.1% AA/acetonitrile with 0.1% AA (88%/12%, by volume), followed at 9min later by the second composition of mobile phase which was step-changed to 85%/15%, at 19rain by the third composition which was step-changed to 73%/27%, at 30min when it was changed to 65%/35% and finally it was maintained in isocratic mode to the end of the run time at 50rain. Although, using step gradient mode to separate the isoflavones, the calculated and experimented data were not achieved very good agreement, we could estimate the closed retention time before experiment. And the agreement between the experimental data and the calculated values was relatively good using isocratic separation for eight isoflavones, but the retention time is very long.展开更多
This study examines the use of intact samples as an alternative to powder in conventional batch sorption studies to determine the distribution coefficient(K_d).Stable cesium(^(133)Cs) and strontium(^(87)Sr) were used ...This study examines the use of intact samples as an alternative to powder in conventional batch sorption studies to determine the distribution coefficient(K_d).Stable cesium(^(133)Cs) and strontium(^(87)Sr) were used under specified geochemical conditions to compare the Kdvalues of powder and block pumice tuff samples. The aim of the study was to infer any Kddifference under laboratory and field conditions. Kdvalues for block samples were found to be less than one order of magnitude lower than powder materials for both Cs and Sr on fresh tuff, and more than one order of magnitude lower in oxidized tuff. Destruction of micropores in oxidized tuff was estimated to be mainly responsible for reducing Kdvalues in oxidized tuff. However, approximately one order of magnitude difference in Kdvalues indicates that homogenously prepared intact samples can be used for sorption coefficient measurement at closer to in situ conditions. Pore size distribution analysis using mercury intrusion porosimetry revealed that lower Kdvalues on block samples result from lower surface area available as sorption sites due to inaccessible closed pores in the intact solid.展开更多

Experiments on thermal decomposition of nano-sized calcium carbonate were carried out in a thermo-gravimetric analyzer under non-isothermal condition of different heating rates (5 to 20K·min-1). The Coats and Red...Experiments on thermal decomposition of nano-sized calcium carbonate were carried out in a thermo-gravimetric analyzer under non-isothermal condition of different heating rates (5 to 20K·min-1). The Coats and Redfern's equation was used to determine the apparent activation energy and the pre-exponential factors. The mechanism of thermal decomposition was evaluated using the master plots, Coats and Redfern's equation and the kinetic compensation law. It was found that the thermal decomposition property of nano-sized calcium carbonate was different from that of bulk calcite. Nano-sized calcium carbonate began to decompose at 640℃, which was 180℃lower than the reported value for calcite. The experimental results of kinetics were compatible with the mechanism of one-dimensional phase boundary movement. The apparent activation energy of nano-sized calcium carbonate was estimated to be 151kJ·mol-1 while the literature value for normal calcite was approximately 200kJ·mol-1. The order of magnitude of pre-exponential factors was estimated to be 10~9 s-1.展开更多

Research on mineral processing was conducted a...A complex lead-zinc-silver sulfide ore containing 2.98% Pb, 6.49% Zn and 116.32×10^-4 % Ag (mass fraction) from Yunnan Province, China, was subjected to this work. Research on mineral processing was conducted according to the properties of the lead-zinc-silver ore. Under low alkalinity condition, the lead minerals are successfully separated from the zinc minerals with new reagent YZN as zinc depressant, new reagent BPB as lead collector, CuSO4 as zinc activator and ethyl xanthate as zinc collector. The associated silver is mostly concentrated to the lead concentrate. With the process utilized in this work, a lead concentrate of 51.90% Pb with a recovery of 82.34% and a zinc concentrate of 56.96% Zn with a recovery of 81.98% are produced. The silver recovery in the lead concentrate is 80.61%. Interactions of flotation reagents with minerals were investigated, of which the results indicate that the presence of proper amount of Na2S can precipitate Pb^2+ and has a sulfidation on oxidized lead minerals. The results also show that NazCO3 and YZN used together as combined depressants for sphalerite can signally improve the depressing effect of new reagent YZN on sphalerite.展开更多

It is found that there are a 'pseudo' intermediate-boiling ternary reactive azeotrope at p = 101.325kPa and two 'real' ternary reactive azeotropes at p = 101.325 Pa.
