The most important overall principle for evaluating English tests is usefulness. As one of the most common question types in foreign language teaching and exams, cloze test aims to test students’ comprehensive language proficiency. This article is based on the “New Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education English (2022 Revised Edition)” (hereinafter referred to as the “New Curriculum Standards”), and selects the 2019 to 2023 Chongqing Middle School Entrance Examination English B-test questions as the research sample. Based on the relevant theories and judgment criteria of content validity, content validity analysis is conducted on the cloze test, and corresponding suggestions are proposed for the cloze test based on the analysis results.展开更多
