Through the analysis of the classical theory of traditional Chinese medicine and the elaboration of the related balance mechanism of western medicine, the characteristics of the two in disease understanding, prevention and treatment are discussed. It is found that the thought of harmony in traditional Chinese medicine is based on the classical theories such as the holistic concept and the five elements of yin and yang, emphasizing the harmony and unity of the human body itself and the human and the environment;the balance concept of Western medicine focuses on the stability of physiological indicators and the homeostasis of the internal environment. Both of them have their own advantages and disadvantages in disease prevention and control, and mutual reference is helpful to improve the comprehensive level of disease prevention and control.展开更多
