Flight delay prediction remains an important research topic due to dynamic nature in flight operation and numerous delay factors.Dynamic data-driven application system in the control area can provide a solution to thi...Flight delay prediction remains an important research topic due to dynamic nature in flight operation and numerous delay factors.Dynamic data-driven application system in the control area can provide a solution to this problem.However,in order to apply the approach,a state-space flight delay model needs to be established to represent the relationship among system states,as well as the relationship between system states and input/output variables.Based on the analysis of delay event sequence in a single flight,a state-space mixture model is established and input variables in the model are studied.Case study is also carried out on historical flight delay data.In addition,the genetic expectation-maximization(EM)algorithm is used to obtain the global optimal estimates of parameters in the mixture model,and results fit the historical data.At last,the model is validated in Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests.Results show that the model has reasonable goodness of fitting the data,and the search performance of traditional EM algorithm can be improved by using the genetic algorithm.展开更多

The recognition system based on CA server is a high efficient, convenient and reliable system. The encryption technology and security method are proved to be reliable. The recognition system is of high security and is worthy of being popularized in some places where some special security requirements need meeting. Instead of giving a static input, multiple possible sets of inputs are fed into the model. And the computational errors are corrected using statistical approaches. It involves a variety of aspects, including the uncertainty modeling, the measurement evaluation, the system model and the measurement model coupling ,the computation complexity, and the performance issue. Authors intend to set up the architecture of DDDS for wildfire spread model, DEVS-FIRE, based on the discrete event speeification (DEVS) formalism. The experimental results show that the framework can track the dynamically changing fire front based on fire sen- sor data, thus, it provides more aecurate predictions.展开更多

The performances of formerly introduced relative similarity indicators, along with the correlation coefficient, are subj...A recently developed computerized method for assessing the rock joint coefficients is discussed. The performances of formerly introduced relative similarity indicators, along with the correlation coefficient, are subjected to critical analysis. These relative numerical indicators are replaced by two absolute indicators whose properties better describe surface textures of rock joints. The first absolute indicator results from the Fourier Matrix and evaluates wavy shapes of surfaces. The second absolute indicator quantifies the heights of surface reliefs, and is defined as the root mean square height of the surface outline. The behavior of the newly introduced numerical indicators are investigated by means of the deterministic periodic surface reliefs. The practical application of the new indicators is presented and the convenient performances of both the indicators are documented.展开更多

The proposed system not only maintains all the advantages of the more conventional implementations but also enhan...The design and applications of a land information system built upon ARC/INFO and ArcView are presented. The proposed system not only maintains all the advantages of the more conventional implementations but also enhances them in the following ways: 1) the application program interfaces (API) are used to transmit data and messages among different parts of the system; 2) the integrated system can support studies on land evaluations and ecological analyses by efficient management of attribute and spatial data and 3) correspondingly, spatial records and attributive records are linked by the same identifiers (ID). A case study application in Zigui County of the Three Gorges Area in China demonstrates that the system could employ land-use maps and land property data to predicate and analyze the land utilization changes in the past, present and future. The ecological environment analysis can be carried out with the data of land, economics and terrain map used, showing that the system can be widely applied, especially to survey land and environment resources in the countryside area.展开更多
