This paper explores the social participation needs of elderly volunteers from three aspects: psychological support and social participation needs, recognition and incentive needs, and the diversity of service content needs. It also discusses the participation forms of elderly volunteers from four aspects: community cultural activities, care for vulnerable groups, environmental protection and community beautification, and education and training. It is found that through volunteer services, they can achieve role transformation, expand social networks, and enhance self-worth, thereby obtaining a sense of achievement and satisfaction. The article also proposes suggestions for promoting the broader participation of elderly volunteers in volunteer services from three dimensions: policy guidance, social publicity, and community construction, aiming to promote the development of elderly volunteer services, assist the free and all-round development of the elderly, and improve the elderly social governance system.展开更多
