The microstructure characteristics of 7075 aluminium alloy semisolid slurry at different stirring speeds prepared by the FCR process were analyzed. The experimental results suggest that with the increase of the stirring speed, the mean grain size of the semisolid decreases and the shape factor as well as the number of primary grains increase. Meanwhile, the preparation process of semisolid slurry was numerically simulated. The flow characteristics of the melt in the device and the effect of the stirring speed on temperature field and solid fraction of the melt were investigated. The simulated results show that during the preparation process of semisolid slurry, there is a complex convection within the FCR device that obviously changes the temperature field distribution and solid fraction of the melt. When the convection intensity increases, the scope of the undercooling gradient of the melt is reduced and temperature distribution is improved.展开更多

It was emphasized on basic theories, such as formation of globular grains, theology, high pressure solidification and plastic deformation and applications, such as material design, preparation of semi-solid billets (slurries), thixoforming and application status, which are based on the advantage of semi-solid processing. The results show that the gap of SSP between world level and China exists, especially in application technologies, including market recognition, application fields exploiting, developing of billets (slurries) preparation technologies with low cost and special equipments. The prospect of semi-solid forming development path in China is presented. And we hope that application of SSP has great new breakthrough and development and China wilt be changed from a large metal processing country to a powerful metal processing country.展开更多

The experimental results showed that A1-AIN- 50SiB material (prepared by ball-milling powders) and AI- AIN-50SiM material (prepared by mixing powders) exhibited the semi-continuous Si structures and the isolated Si islands, respectively. Subsequently, the AI-AIN-50Si materials were selected as the model materials by phase identification and microstructure analysis. The dynamic microstructural evolu- tion of AI-AIN-50Si materials was investigated using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. Mathematical models and simulation results showed that the in situ synthesis of AIN was strongly influenced by the structure and the flow- path ((Cg,N2/lg,N2)+(Cs,AlN/ls,AiN)). The flow paths of AI-AIN-50Si^B material were restricted by the semi-continuous Si. These Si structures can promote the formation of the strong turbulence with gradually weakened fluctuation, so that the in situ synthesis of AIN was interconnected and surrounded by an interpenetrating Si network. In contrast, the flow paths of AI- AIN-50Si^B material can easily pass through the isolated Si due to its mild turbulence with linear relationship. As a result, AIN was separated by the isolated Si and agglomerated in the matrix. Overall, the present work provides new insights into dynamic microstructural evolution in in situ reaction sinter- ing systems.展开更多

Here, we have developed a series of watersoluble fluorescent dendrimers with dye as core and fanshaped PAMAM as arms. Carboxylated perylene bisimides(PBI) dye and squarylium indocyanine(SICy) dye were conjugated with PAMAM dendrons by amidation to obtain a series of fluorescent dendrimers with enhanced water-solubility. Two PBI based dendrimers(PBI-G2.5 and PBI-G1.5)were chosen as model compounds for further optical, selfassembly and biological studies. In aqueous environment,PBI-G2.5 exhibited strong fluorescence, small size(~30 nm)and slightly positive surface charge(~2.46 mV), which are ideal for biomedical applications. In vitro assays demonstrated that PBI-G2.5 nanoparticles accumulated in the cytoplasm of He La cells with rapid cellular uptake. The strong fluorescence in He La cells remained for over 48 h. To conclude, our study provides an effective strategy for preparing water-soluble fluorescent dendrimers towards long-term live cell imaging.展开更多

It was found that the gel formation process can be controlled by introduction of water at room temperature. Addition of water to an acetone solution of 4 immediately results in the system becoming turbid, and a gel subsequently forms within a few minutes. Interestingly, 4 is a super-gelator for a mixed solvent of acetone and water at room temperature, in particular when their volume ratio is close to 1:1 at which the critical gelation concentration (CGC) is 0.06% (w/v). It was found that the introduction of water favors the formation of gel networks, and the gel possesses smart and reversible thixotropic properties. FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy confirmed that hydrogen bonding is one of the main driving forces for the gelation of the solvents. XRD demonstrated that 4 self-assembled into a layered structure within the acetone-water mixed solvent gel. Furthermore, 1 and 2 can be used as excellent stabilizers for gel emulsions of alkanes and water. The maximum of the dispersed phase, water, in one of the gel-emulsions can be as high as 97% (v/v).展开更多
